The church was built in the 17th century and is one of the most beautiful objects of Lemko wooden architecture in Poland. The church has been reconstructed and from the original solid only the nave, which together with the chancel is covered with the pyramidal hip roof, has been left unchanged. All parts of the church, including the tower, are crowned by bulbous domes with apparent lanterns.

The walls and roofs of the church are shingled, while the domes are made of sheet metal. The church is decorated with figural and ornamental polychrome from the beginning of the 20th century. In the temple, complete furnishings have been preserved. They include, inter alia, an iconostasis with beautifully decorated holy gates and 2 Baroque altars from the 18th century – on the northern side, with an icon of the Virgin Mary with the Infant (19th century), on the southern side – with a large icon of St. Nicholas (beginning of the 18th century). In the chancel, there is also a small altar with an icon of Christ Pantocrator. In 2013, the church was honoured by being inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
